George Clifford Styduhar

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for George Clifford Styduhar. George passed away at the age of 75 years on Sunday, 26 May 2006. The Reverend Michael Lightner officiate the funeral service. Visitation was held at the church prior to the service. Interment took place with the family at a later date.
George was born on 17 April 1931 in Bronx, New York, son of Andrew and Anna (nee Duda) Styduhar. He was a veteran of the Korean War and received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He married Barbara (nee Bock) in 1957 and relocated to the Milwaukee area. There he raised his family and enjoyed 38 years of employment with the Pabst Brewing Company as the corporate credit manager. George was a strong supporter of youth and was involved with Junior Achievement. For 10 years he served as the co-director and coach for Cedarburg youth basketball. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many hours at the pier in Port Washington.
George is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Nancy (Tim) Flood of Watertown, Wisconsin; son Paul of Jackson; grandsons Christopher and Patrick of Watertown; brother Frank of Glendale, California; and sister Catherine Yuva of Port Washington, New York. He is further survived by three nieces, two nephews and many close family and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter. George will always be remembered for his strength of character, generous nature and devotion to his family.

Henry C. Vanderwalker

Henry C. Vanderwalker, also known as Hank, of Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of Cedar Grove and West Bend, entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, 30 May 2006 at his home. Henry was born on 03 February 1919 in Milwaukee, son of Henry G. and Blanche (nee McCormack) Vanderwalker. On 12 October 1939 he married Audrey L. Orthmann. She died on 11 Novenber 1976. He married Arlene J. (nee Ruesink) Veldboom on 26 August 1977. Arlene passed away on May 12, 2003. Henry grew up in Cedar Grove and graduated from Milwaukee’s Washington High School in 1936. Henry attended Armour Institute in Chicago before entering the United States Army in 1942. He served at Camp Stoneman, Pittsburgh, California with the rank of master sergeant until his discharge in 1946. Henry was employed by Orthmann Laboratories in Milwaukee and then owned and operated the Panda Corporation, a manufacturer of leather treatment products in West Bend, from 1948-1992. He was also a sales representative for Midland Cooperative of West Bend from 1949-1975. He was then an over-the-road truck driver for 20 years. Henry was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was also a longtime member of the West Bend Lions Club and in 1949 became a member of the Jackson S/Sgt. Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post 486.
Henry was survived by two daughters, Audrey (David W.) Mayer of Fredericksburg, Texas and Susan (John E.) Berg of Winona, Minnesota; two grandchildren, John C. Berg of Wonewoc and Anne L. Berg of Winona; a brother-in-law, David D. Steward of Linn Creek, Moissouri; two nephews; a niece; other relatives and friends. Roy O. Kallenberger

Roy O. Kallenberger of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, was born into eternal life on Tuesday, 30 May 2006. He was 88 years. Roy was born on 03 February 1918 in Milwaukee, son of August and Katherine (nee Krause) Kallenberger. He was the beloved husband of 64 years of Dolores E. Kallenberger (nee Zielinski); the loving father of Polly (the late George) Boerner, the late Wayne (Marcia) Kallenberger and JoAnn (Craig) Sternke; proud grandfather of Christopher (Colleen) Kallenberger, Katherine (Mike) Kordys, Kevin Boerner, Kim (Dave) Ferrier, Claire (Scott) Mazur, Nathan Kallenberger, and Kate, Christian and Matthew Sternke; and special great-grandfather of Lily, Abby, Holden, Max, Luke, Leah and Carolyn. Roy will also be remembered by many other special relatives and dear friends.
After serving in the United States Navy as a lieutenant in World War II, Roy enjoyed a career at Marquette University that spanned 40 years. A memorial service was held on Monday at the Grafton Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355, 1540 13th Avenue, Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Melvin A. Schultz. Melvin, a lifelong resident of Cedarburg, died peacefully at the age of 91 years on Thursday, 11 May 2006. Melvin served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a musician and played the violin for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Melvin was the loving stepfather of Laurel, Brian, Debra, Donald and David. He was the proud grandpa of six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife June; his sisters Louise and Roma; and his brother Alfred. A special thank you to the staff at King Veterans Home for their loving care.

Jerome A. Stautz

Jerome A. Stautz, also known as Jerry, of Shawano, Shawano County, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of Jackson and West Bend, Washington County, passed away on Friday, 09 June 2006 at Shawano Medical Center in Shawano. Jerome was born on 20 February 1929 in Kewaskum, son of Clifford and Elsa E. (Brues-sel) Stautz. On 29 April 1950, he was united in marriage to Alice Backhaus at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the Shawano American Legion Post 117, Shawano 40-ET-8, the Clintonville VFW and Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge 138 in West Bend, where he was past master, and a current member of the Masonic Lodge in Shawano.
Jerry was employed by the city of West Bend in the Clerk’s office for many years and was the clerk for the village of Jackson until his retirement. He was also a member of the West Bend Fire and Rescue. While living in Shawano County, Jerry was very involved as a director of the Cloverleaf Lakes Sanitary District No. 1 and as a board member of the Cloverleaf Lakes Protective Association.
Jerome was survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice; four children, Karen (Gary) Moll of Weston, Rick (Kim) Stautz of Shawano, Laurie (Irv) Cummings of New London and Lisa (Scott) Abel of West Bend; two brothers, Clayton (Aletta) Stautz of Kewaskum and Floyd (Ellen) Stautz of Madison; seven grandchildren, John Moll, Theran, Meg and Ian Stautz, Nathan Fechter, and Jeremiah and Hannah Abel; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial (followed by a supper) was celebrated on 30 June 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Francis Charles Cartwright of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Francis passed away at the age of 60 years at home in his sleep on Saturday, 06 May 2006. Those interested in attending the memorial Mass and supper were requested to call l St. Joe’s at 375-6500. Francis was born in Milwaukee on 21 November 1945, son of La Vern and Ruth Bentzler. He was raised in Junction City by his maternal grandparents. Francis graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in Stevens Point in 1964. He married Noel Cartwright in November of 1965. Francis was employed by A.O. Smith for 32 years and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked at Trak International until he retired in 1999, due to his myotonic muscular dystrophy. Francis was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts, served at the Milwaukee Folk Fair and raised money for muscular dystrophy research for the last seven years.
Francis was survived by his wife Noel (of 40 years); son Frank (Lisa); daughters Leah (Pete) Petersen, Melissa and Kristin (Ryan) Roddy; grandchildren Mia and Aidan Roddy; stepgrandson Zach Petersen; father La Vern Bentzler; sister Sharon (Ray) Mielke; mother-in-law Mary Stoke; and sister-in-law Vicki (Don) Massie. Thomas M. Reynolds

Thomas M. Reynolds Jr., also know as Tom, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered into eternal peace at the age of 77 years on Monday, 12 June 2006 at Kathy Hospice. Tom was born on 23 July 1928, son of Thomas M. and Dorris L. (nee Tyler) Reynolds Sr. in La Crosse, where he also spent his childhood. He graduated from La Crosse High School and went on to further his education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Tom honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After returning, he finished his education, graduating from the University of North Dakota. During the late 1950s, Tom moved to the West Bend area where he worked initially at the West Bend Company. Tom married Elizabeth J. German on 25 January 1964 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in West Bend. He later became employed at Doede Construction, where he was able to celebrate his retirement. Tom was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, Northbrook Church, Boy Scouts of America and the Washington County Republican Party.
Tom was deeply missed by his loving children, Michael (Gerri) Reynolds of Wausau, John Reynolds of West Bend and Kathy (Chris) Peterson of Hebron, Ky; four dear grandchildren, Mary Reynolds, and Timothy, Stephen and Rebecca Peterson; and one brother, Fred Reynolds. He was further survived by other special relatives and dear friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Elizabeth, who died on 18 November 2003.
A memorial service in honor of Tom was held on Thursday, 15 June at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend, where Pastor Lee Hayward officiated. Cremation took place at Paradise Cremation Services, with interment of ashes in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Thursday. Visitation with family and friends was at the funeral home on Thursday.

Thomas J. Herman Jr. of Glenbeulah, formerly of Adell, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59 years on Friday, 16 June 2006 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA. Thomas was born on 31 August 1946 in Hartford, Washington County, son of Thomas and Mildred (Gass) Herman. On 22 August 1969, he was united in marriage to Carol Steinert in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tom served his country serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Plymouth Foam in Plymouth, was a member of the NRA and helped with the Random Lake High School trap team. Tom was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and shooting sports.
Thomas was survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol; three children, Brad Herman of Glenbeulah, Renee (Tony) Jones of Cascade and Regina (Jesse) Jones of Kewaskum; six grandchildren, Ashley, Tori, Lexi, Jesse Jr., Cheyanne and Dria Jones; two brothers, Glenn Herman of West Bend and Gary (Lynn) Herman of Burnett; four sisters, Lori (Rick) Maske of Campbellsport, Jane (Lloyd) Merkel of Random Lake, Patty (Eric) Olmsted of Rio and Ellen (Jack) Weiland of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.

Arthur F. Lobotzke

Arthur F. Lobotzke of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of West Bend, died at the age of 87 years on Sunday, 18 June 2006 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County. Arthur was born on 12 December 1918 in Milwaukee, son of Julius J. and Rose C. (nee Gleisner) Lobotzke. In June 1941, Art enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. While stationed in Missouri, he married Florence M. Luedke on 17 October 1941. Later during World War II, he served in the European Theater, mainly working out of an air depot in England. Following his discharge on 10 January 1946, Art returned to Milwaukee. In 1955, the family moved to West Bend, where Art and Florence lived until moving to Slinger in 2005. For more than 30 years, he was a consultant and salesman with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He was the founder of the Washington County Clown Alley, a member of the West Bend Lodge 1398 Loyal Order Of Moose, the West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36 and the West Bend Fred A. Schaefer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1393, where he served as a member of the color guard. He also served as the parade marshall of the West Bend Fourth of July Parade for many years.
He was survived by his wife, Florence; four children, Dawn of West Bend, Arthur (Chris) of Clyman, Jan (Roger) Hanefeld of Burnett and Robert of Oskhosh; three grandchildren, Jessica, Kayla and Kegan; a sister, Lori Lentz of Brookfield; a brother, Jerome (Beverly) of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Scheer, and a brother, Julius.

Alvin G. Anschuetz

A funeral service was held on 26 June 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Alvin G. Anschuetz of Cedarburg. Alvin died at the age of 99 years at the Lasata Care Center on Friday, 23 June 2006. Visitation was held at the church on Monday. Interment took place at Immanuel Cemetery.
Alvin was born on 02 February 1907, son of Charles and Rose (nee Rilling) Anschuetz. Alvin and Genevieve Moser were married on 28 June 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Alvin retired from Briggs and Stratton Corporation after working there for 31 years. He also served his country in the United States Army for three years and later joined the Cedarburg Peter Wollver American Legion Post 288, where he was a member for over 50 years. Alvin was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the church council.
He was also a member of the dart ball team. Alvin enjoyed playing cards and was always happy.
Alvin was survived by his wife Genevieve (nee Moser) Anschuetz; nephews Gilbert Anschuetz, Douglas (Pamela) Anschuetz and Ronald (Cathleen) Anschuetz. He was further survived by many other relatives and friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his brothers Melvin and Raymond; and sister-in-law Laura.

James R. Yaeger, also known as Jim, passed away at the age of 74 years on Sunday, 25 June 2006 at the Linden Grove Nursing Home in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Kurth) Yaeger; father of Debra Christopherson, Lisa (Brian) Byrum and Yvonne (Dean) Risch; and stepfather of Mike (Cynthia) Cassidy and Mark Cassidy. Jim was also survived by his mother, Lucille (nee Miller) Yaeger; his sister, Patricia (Dale) Anderson; a sister-in-law, Margaret Yaeger; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other very special relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Yaeger; his brother, Robert W. Yaeger; and a daughter-in-law, Rose Cassidy.

A memorial service to honor Jim was held on Wednesday, 28 June at Crown Life Lutheran Church, 1292 Tally Ho Trail, Hubertus, where the Reverend Mike Helwig officiated. Visitation was held at the church on Wednesday. Cremation took place at Paradise Cremation Services, West Bend, followed by a private interment of cremains at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

John D. Nast

John D. Nast of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 62 years on Wednesday, 28 June 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on 20 November 1943 in Milwaukee, son of Fred and Milly (Nee Benedict) Nast Jr. He attended Milwaukee Country Day School and later graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in mathematics. John then worked in California for NASA for a short time before enlisting in the United States Navy during Vietnam. After his military service was over, John returned to Wisconsin and started working as a fifth-generation member of Western Lime Corp. He moved with his family to West Bend in 1976. At the time of his death, John was the president of Western Lime Corp., with the headquarters located in West Bend and plants in Eden and Green Bay. On 19 June 2004, John was united in marriage to Judy Gabriel at Grace Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Indiana. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was active with the Riveredge Nature Trail, and enjoyed bike riding, camping, kayaking and in general enjoyed nature. He was passionate about helping sponsor children for summer YMCA camps.
John was survived by his wife, Judy; his parents, Fred and Milly Nast of Mequon; a son, J. Kyle (Sara) Nast of San Francisco, California; two stepdaughters, Theresa Prather of Nappanee, Indiana and Kimberly (Dan) Mickey of Bellivedere, Illinois; three step-grandchildren, Roman Oritz-Prather, Kayle Mickey and Garrett Mickey; a sister, Barbara N. Hughes of East Hanney, Oxfordshire, England; a brother, Fred Nast of Port Washington; other relatives and many friends. His son, Christopher, preceded him in death.

Edward P. Guerndt of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 76 years on Friday, 30 June 2006 at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. Edward was born on 06 January 1930 in Milwaukee, son of Edward and Olive (Kramer) Guerndt. On 07 February 1947, he was united in marriage to Audrey Washburn in Hartford. Edward served his country in the United States Army in 1946 and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.

Arthur D. Wellner
M, b. circa 1925, d. 01 July 2006
Arthur D. Wellner of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 81 years on 01 July 2006 at his residence. Arthur was born in Scandinavia, Wiscoinsin and raised in Princeton where he attended high school, graduating with the class of 1943. He then served three years in the Navy during World War II, earning many awards. He moved to Milwaukee where his sister introduced him to Mary T. Kielsk and Mary and he were married on 29 June 1946. They started a family, eventually settling in West Bend where he became a police officer for the next 33 years. Arthur was the first police detective West Bend ever had. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW and enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and golf.
He was survived by his beloved wife, Mary (nee Kielski) Wellner. He was the loving father of Sharon (Sylvester) Muckerheide of Neillsville, Richard (Sally) Wellner of Jefferson, Ronald (Carol) Wellner of Mayville, Duane (fiancŽ Connie) Wellner of West Bend, Debra (John) Ruhnke of West Bend, Doreen Schneider of Wisconsin Dells, and Michael (Dawn) Wellner of West Bend. He was further survived by 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leroy (Terri) Wellner of Waukesha; four sisters, Evelyn Wilke and Alice Koepsel of Weyauwega, Arlene Schulta and Thelma Anderson of Milwaukee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Ricky A. Rodenkirch passed away at the age of 61 years on Tuesday, 04 July 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Ricky was born on 27 May 1945, son of Richard and Violet (Austin) Rodenkirch. He married Helen Sell on 13 July 2001 in West Bend. Ricky served his country in the Vietnam War in the Military Police of the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter his entire life and was a member of the Milwaukee Carpenters Union. Rickey retired in 2004. His hobbies included hunting and a great love of fishing.
Ricky was survived by his loving wife Helen; two sons, Tony Rodenkirch and John Rodenkirch of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Sarah Rodenkirch of West Bend; Helen’s children; six grandchildren, Tyler, Styles, Hannah, Kaylee, Natalie and Dakota; his mother, Violet Rodenkirch; two brothers, James (Sherri) Rodenkirch and Raymond "Skip" (Florence) Rodenkirch; and two sisters, Sue (John) Krebs and Pam (James) Roethle. William H. Mack

William H. Mack of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 85 years on Thursday, 06 July 2006 surrounded by his loving family. William was born on 20 May 1921, son of William and Martha Mack, in Cleveland, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946. After returning home from the service, he married Jeanette Tennies on 10 April 1948. For the majority of his life, he was dedicated to the masonry industry in bricklaying and stonework. William and Jeanette lived in the Richfield area until he moved to Arizona for 20 years and then returned to Wisconsin in 2005, residing then in Hartford.
William was missed by his beloved wife, Jeanette (Tennies) Mack; his cherished sons, James Mack (special friend Toni) of Kingmen, Arizona, Charles (Magie) Mack and Howard (Sandy) Mack of West Bend; four cherished daughters, Mary (Roger) Hopfensperger of Oak Creek, Kathy (Joe) Ward of Kentucky, Jeaneen (Dean) Oswald of Hartford and Christine (Dave) Quandt of Lomira; 31 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry (Jean) Mack. Edward A. Podjaski of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 78 years on Thursday, 06 July 2006 at his residence. Edward was born on 13 July 1927 in Stevens Poin, Portage County, son of Frank and Mary (nee Wanta) Podjaski. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during World War II. He worked as an auto body repairman and was employed at Slocum Pontiac in Greenfield for 23 years until his retirement. On 15 June 1985, he married Renata Rindfleisch in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County.
Edward was survived by his wife, Renata; three children, Terry (Mike) Batson of Franklin, Toni Cutner of West Allis, and JoAnn Carpenter of Surprise, Arizona; five stepchildren, David Copp of Minnesota, Candice (David) Siefert of Sheboygan, Laurel (Brad) Rose of Mequon, Gary (Kristie) Copp of Florida and Julie (Mike) Kidd of West Bend; two sisters, Irene Kedrowski of Hatley and Del Hansen of Milwaukee; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Podjaski, Frank Podjaski and Valeryaxi Podjaski, and a sister, Angela Bronk.

Earl J. Dreher

Earl J. Dreher Jr., as known as Patty, of New Fane, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, USA, was united with the Lord at the age of 71 years on Saturday, 08 July2006 at his home after battling cancer. Earl was born on 26 December1934 in Kewaskum, Washington County, son of Earl and Minnie (Knowles) Dreher Sr. He was a graduate of Kewaskum High School. On 08 September 1956, Earl was united in marriage to Blanche Stowers at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and continued to serve in the Air National Guard until 1963. While he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, Earl and Blanche started a loving family. The family returned to Wisconsin in 1964 and ran a Shell station in Oak Creek. In 1966, they moved to West Bend and in 1972, they settled in New Fane. Earl was employed by Wisconsin Electric for 10 years. His passion for truck driving led him to become an owner-operator for many years. He continued to drive even after retirement. Earl was a lifelong member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, was a member of the New Fane Kettle Riders for over 30 years and was also a member of the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, racing and trucking. Earl was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.

A memorial service was held on 17 July 2006 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for James H. Kaumheimer. James passed away after a short illness on Friday, 07 July 2006. The Reverend Franz Rigert officiated the church service which was followed by a light lunch. Jim was born on 23 March 1926 in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County. Having been raised in Sheboygan, he was a great fan of brat fries. After serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Jim attended UW-Madison where he earned a BBA and met his future wife, Melba. They were married on 10 September 1949. Jim was an avid fisherman and a member of the Wisconsin Muskie Club. He fished whenever and wherever he could, including the Milwaukee River in Grafton which had been his backyard for over 38 years. He also enjoyed woodworking, building furniture that decorated his house. Jim and his wife traveled extensively where they enjoyed meeting and talking with people throughout the world.
James was survived by his children Tina (Bill) Kanetzke of Menomonee Falls, David (Tereica) Kaumheimer of Selah, Wash., Eric Kaumheimer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Amy (David) Schultz of Whitefish Bay; grandchildren Andrew and Nicholas Kanetzke, Sara and Jack Schultz and Kathryn Kaumheimer; and his sister Jeanne (Dick) Whinfield. George J. Handel, also known as Hansie, of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 87 years on Sunday, 16 July 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph in West Bend. George was born on 20 August 1918 in Hartford, son of Joseph and Ella (nee Behrans) Handel. He married Dorothy Sell on 28 March 1946 in Tacoma, Wasington. George was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. George served his country in WWII in the United States Army. He retired from Libby-McNeil-Libby in Hartford were he worked for over 30 years. He helped out at Rhodes Greenhouse since a young man and continued into his adult life. He worked there for over 40 years. He enjoyed working. He mowed lawns and shoveled snow for many people over the years. George also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and making wine.
He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; three children, Michael (Linda) of West Bend, Crystal (Darnell) Burg of Hartford and Terry of Arizona; three grandchildren, Shane, Dustin and Tamara; two stepbrothers, Robert Handel of Port Washington and Joseph Handel of Virginia; a stepsister, Rose Marie Matter of Cedarburg; a nephew, Tom (Jeanine) of Hartford; and great-nephews, Tyler and Brad Handel. He was further survived by other relatives and many friends. George was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Rhodes; and two brothers, Elmer and Morse Handel.
Funeral services for George will be Friday, 21 July 2006 at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford, where the Reverend David Wietzke officiated. Family greeted relatives and friends on Friday at the church. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford, with graveside military rites by the Hartford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8834.

William Glenn Hurst of LeRoy, Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 73 years on Friday, 14 July 2006 at his home. He was born on 09 June 1933 in Two Rivers, Manitowoc County, son of Alden and Lulu (nee Zeman) Hurst. He married Jane F. Schmidt on 25 August 1956 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. He was a 1951 graduate of Mayville High School. He was a retiree from Steel-Craft in Hartford. He was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea, a member of Lomira Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 and former member of Mayville Golf Club and Camelot Golf Club. He was active in LeRoy Baseball and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking in addition to fixing golf carts. Bill’s greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren grow up.

Raymond M. Strade of Campbellsport, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 68 years on Tuesday, 18 July 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend. Raymond was born in Campbellsport on 18 March 1938, son of Monroe and Leona (Kaehne) Strade. He served in the Army National Guard and worked at Fleet Farm in West Bend. For the last eight years, Ray was the Campbellsport Milwau-kee Journal carrier. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.

Manly D. Zillmer

Manly D. Zillmer of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 69 years on Friday, 21 July 2006 at the Kathy Hospice. Manly was born on 04 January 1937 in Barronett, son of Herman and Florence (nee Holman) Zillmer. He married Dora M. Burrs on 30 September 1961 in Barronett. Manly graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1955. Following his graduation, he entered the National Guard, serving as a volunteer and then a full-time employee until retiring in 1982. In May of 1984, he and his son, Steve, started Unique Services in West Bend, which he co-owned until his death. Manly was very active in the Boy Scouts, being a scoutmaster for 21 years.
Manly was survived by his wife of 45 years, Dora; five children, Steven (Lisa) of West Bend, Tammy (Daniel) Widhammer of Colorado, Dawn (Jeffrey) Vorpahl of Kewaskum, Thomas of West Bend and David (Sharyl) of Kewaskum; and 10 grandchildren, Torin and Keenan Widhammer, Montana, Matthew and Michael Schicker, Autumn Vorpahl and Devyn, Dominic, Dawson and Donavan Zillmer. He was further survived by three brothers, Lawrence of Wyoming, Darrell (Jackie) of Montana and Merton (Peggy) of Cable; three sisters, Ardith (Dick) Lester of Montana, Clarice Zillmer of Charlottesville, North Carolina and Karen (John) Brinkmann of Hudson; his cat, Izzie; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Manly was preceded in death by his son, James; his granddaughter, Whitney Zillmer; his brother, Alan; and his sister, Donna Jansen.

Roger W. Dobke of Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67 years on Saturday, 29 July 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk. Roger was born on 15 November 1938 in Fond du Lac County at his Grandpa and Grandma Hirsig’s home, son of Edward and Verna (Hirsig) Dobke. On 15 July 1972, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Stangler at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. Roger served his country in the United States Army in the 1960s and before entering into the Army was a soil tester and assessor for the town of Kewaskum.
During his working years, Roger was employed by Mallard Coach, Parker Hanifin, Old Ironsides Batteries, Praefke Brake and Fabex Brake. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Roger was survived by his wife of 34 years, Suzanne; two sons, Brian (Carol) Dobke of Fond du Lac and Kevin (Susanne) Dobke of Milwaukee; two stepsisters, LaVern Geidel and Betty (Loran) Backhaus Jr., both of Kewaskum; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his stepmother, Maria Dobke and a stepbrother-in-law, John Geidel.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, 03 August at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum, following a prayer service at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum.
